Japan’s most well-known pro cosplayer is teaming up with Inuyasha creator Rumiko Takahashi to portray the most famous manga writer’s characters.
Rumiko Takahashi, creator of Uruseiya as well as inuyasha has released an initial look at her book of cosplay.
The book’s new edition will feature a variety of cosplays from Enako voice model, actor, and streamer who is considered Japan’s most lucrative professional cosplayer. The book will see the well-known cosplayer take on the roles of numerous characters from several of Takahashi’s most well-known series, such as Maison Ikkoku, Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha. Takahashi developed a special character for the book by Enako. Enako shared the first image from the book via her own Twitter account. It shows Enako dressed in Lum, an alien princess from Takahashi’s Urusei Yatsura. The collaboration book is yet to be named, is scheduled to be released on September 6, in Japan.

Urusei Yatsura has been the focus of renewed attention recently as Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure studio David Production prepares a new animated adaptation of Takahashi’s iconic sci-fi romantic comedy. The new series is produced by Hideya Takahashi ( Platinum End) and Yasuhiro Kimura, who also directed Jojo’s Golden Wind season. The show will run for four years and will adapt selected stories from the manga’s original run between 1978 and 1987. The return of Lum and Ataru to TV in Japan will begin airing in October. Information about the show’s international release have yet to be announced.
When she’s not working on manga that is a hit or supervising many adaptations of her manga, Takahashi is busy collecting prizes: in 2020, she received the prestigious Medal with Purple Ribbon award by the Japanese government for her contributions to the arts and culture and in 2021, she was inducted into the Harvey Awards’ Hall of Fame for her accomplishments. The manga writer is working on her newest manga series, the supernatural fantasy Maowhich began publication in 2019 and is distributed in English by VIZ Media.

Enako began cosplaying around 2012 and is very well-known within the Japanese cosplay community as well as anime fandom that she is paid by conventions to bring her character to their events. According to reports, she earns over $90,000 each month by these paid appearances and photo shoots. In a video that was released at the beginning of the year, she explained that she owns a ” Cosplay Warehouse”, which houses hundreds of costumes. Her team carefully catalogs and preserves the costumes.
